Another Classic: Not Sure Yet

"Not Sure Yet" Singer Andy Lange

Its a simple song that touches my heart 'coz well "its simple!" I love the three lines that constitute the lyrics of the song "I'm not sure yet about life, about love, but in time I'm sure it'll all be fine." Haven't all of us thought the very same sentiment sometime or other in our lives? And don't we always want to believe in the power of just that.  Check it out... It's sure worth listening to. :) (Courtesy Leverage)

A Child-like Dream

Remember those days when we laughed just for fun, simply because we were happy or because we were pulling someone's leg? It felt good to bring laughter and joy to those around us as we shared our teasing and playful mood with them. We found ourself joking with friends or amusing other children and laughing so hard that there were tears in our eyes and our stomach hurt from all the laughter. No matter what we did, we felt humorous and joyful...

Its been ages since I have done that- Laughed just for kicks... Or let the kid in me, out. She's been playing peek-a-boo somewhere in the background but there's just been too much to deal with and I haven't taken the time to go play with her. I know a cynic would say "Welcome to adulthood!" but I'd like to believe I'm balanced enough to know that its only when I approach the world from this perspective, that I'd lighten up in so many ways... Its only then that any tension that weighed upon me would lift, my eyes would become brighter, and I'd like to believe my smile'd light the room. :) Things that would have frustrated or angered me on another day will just have to make me laugh then as I'd want to shrug it off, freeing myself from unnecessary stress.

Of course I'd have to make sure that my humor uplifts because its so easy to use humor to demean and accidentally hurt people, which is certainly not my intention. I'd like to look for the sparkle in their eyes, the joy on their face and the sound of their laughter; get past their defenses, and maybe remind them of their inner child. And maybe in doing so, I'd go back to that play ground where all children are carefree and playing like its the most serious thing to do. Where the biggest thing worrying me is, what to say when Mumma calls me home, and I want to play longer. And maybe, just maybe everything else will take care of itself..!

Oh well, a girl can dream, can't she? :)

Desh ka Maiel... Indian Rail! :)

Indian Railways Advertisement
Umang and I drove back from Agra like maniacs, 'coz I was bent on watching CWG Inaugaration Ceremony that I had forgotten to set for recording in our Tata Sky Plus. And I'm so glad we did it. Not only did I see a live example of  India Shining, (weren't the fireworks just brilliant?) but I loved the new Indian Railways advertisement. So while everyone is blogging and going gaga over the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games 2010 (and with good reason!), I am going to be that viewer who was pleasantly surprised by the cracker-of-an ad launched by Indian Railways on a commercial break between the games..!

The 60 seconds advertisement uses the old 1968 song 'rail gadi rail gadi chuk chuk chuk' famously picturised on the geriatric Ashok Kumar in the film Aashirwad. (The song had also been sung by Ashok Kumar.) The ad begins with a shot of a typical Indian neighbourhood with the sound of marching feet and a distant chorus of the rail gadi song increasing in volume/tempo. What follows next is this chain mail of marching men rallying on through the city - through buildings, winding stairs, an apartment, traffic - with the rail gadi song sung in full throttle! Amusing all and sundry and aptly portraying the reach of the world's fourth largest railway network - the inimitable Indian Railways, the ad ends with the words Desh Ka Mail, Indian Rail!

Do check it out... Its totally cool... Very tongue-in-cheek for a government ad..!
